AGI History

Founded in 1985, the company has a history of Information Technology consulting for network, client server, and HTML based systems.

In 1986, AGI formed Island Computer Ltd. (ICL) a subsidiary that provided systems integration in Atlantic Canada. Along with systems, ICL developed custom software solutions for Provincial Pharmacare and local government revenue.

During the first half of the 1990’s, ICL expanded throughout Atlantic Canada providing Microsoft Dynamics financial information systems to major clients such as Blue Cross, Fundy Cable, Clearwater Seafoods, New Brunswick Liquor Commission and the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission. ICL was the regional representative of Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains).

Parallel with this expansion, AGI began a major re-engineering of it’s municipal software with Microsoft Windows NT and SQL Server. In 1994, that division was spun off as Aquilium Software Corporation. ASC went public on the TSX Venture Exchange in 1997, later merging with MDR Switchview Global Networks Inc (now Avotus Inc.).

ASC developed markets for its products in Canada, the United States, South America, Africa and Europe.  MDR/Avotus later sold the rights to Aquilium Software to Cogsdale Corp. of PEI.

In 1999, Stephen D. Pate left ASC and resumed his role as CEO and President of Aquilium Group Inc.

AGI has been providing IT consulting for more than 25 years.
